Defense company Aselsan has announced that it signed deals with drone maker Baykar amounting to $95.1 million.

Net income of Türkiye's leading defense company Aselsan soared from 1.19 billion Turkish Liras in 2022 to 7.4 billion liras ($230 million) last year, pointing to a 520 percent increase.

Türkiye's 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) commenced on July 25, drawing significant attention from local and foreign officials.

The event held at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul, was organized under the auspices of the presidency and hosted by the Defense Ministry. The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation managed and shouldered responsibility for the fair.

Türkiye's leading defense company Aselsan is set to unveil the Göksur near air defense missile system at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) scheduled to commence on July 25.

The net income of Aselsan, Türkiye's largest defense company, increased by 50 percent in January-June from a year ago to 3.8 billion Turkish Liras.

Revenues rose by 55 percent year-on-year in the first half to 10.84 billion liras, with the net profit margin declining slightly from 36 to 35 percent.

Aselsan has denied claims that the shares of the company, majority owned by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, would be sold to foreign investors.

The company reserves its legal rights against those false claims and media reports based on those claims, a company statement read late on Dec. 7.

Turkey is preparing to host the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) in Istanbul in May.

Among the world's major defense industry fairs, the 15th IDEF will be held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and under the management and responsibility of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation between May 25-28.

Turkey's leading defense companies have risen on a list of the world's top 100 defense giants, compiled by the prestigious U.S. weekly Defense News, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Anka, an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), carried out its debut missionary flight in the eastern province of Elaz?? on Feb. 5. 

Taking off from Elaz?? Airport, Anka ("Phoenix" in English) ascended to an altitude of 19,000 feet to carry out a four-hour exploration and observation flight.
