At least 30 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants have been neutralized in northern Syria in the last 24 hours as part of the ongoing Euphrates Shield operation, according to a Turkish General Staff statement released on Jan. 31.      

Greece has criticized the Jan. 29 visit of Turkey's top brass to the Aegean islets of Kardak, which is claimed by both countries, describing it as a "serious violation."

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) jihadists have started to leave their positions and withdraw from the northwestern Syrian town of al-Bab following an intense military campaign conducted by the Turkish army and Free Syrian Army (FSA) elements, military sources said on Jan. 27. 

Turkey will start reconstructing infrastructures in the area between Jarablus and al-Rai in northern Syria, which has been cleared of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) as part of Turkey's ongoing Euphrates Shield operation.

A total of 46 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants were "neutralized" and 16 others were injured in northern Syria over the last 24 hours as part of the Euphrates Shield operation, the Turkish Military said early on Jan. 21. 

Five Turkish soldiers were killed and nine others were wounded in an Islamic State Iraq and Levant (ISIL) attack in the al-Bab area of northern Syria on Jan. 20, according to the Turkish army.

The attack was staged with a bomb-laden vehicle by ISIL militants at 1:40 p.m. Wounded soldiers were taken to hospital immediately, said a written statement from the Turkish Armed Forces.

British fighter jets under the U.S.-led anti-Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) coalition conducted air strikes in northern Syria on Jan. 18, the Turkish army has said, noting that it marked the first coalition air strike in a long time.

Russia and Turkey will conduct their first joint air force operation against the terrorist grouping Islamic State in the suburbs of al-Bab in the Aleppo province, reported TASS, cited by the Focus agency.
