Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahçe confirmed on April 6 that former player Radomir Antic passed away at 71.

"We have learned with great sadness the death of our former player Radomir Antic who sweated the striped jersey and played an important role in the championship we won in the 1977-78 season," the Istanbul club said on Twitter.

Shane Larkin, the American point guard of Turkish basketball club Anadolu Efes, said on Feb. 1 he would be proud to join Turkey's national basketball team.

Defending Turkish league champion Galatasaray hosts Beşiktaş on May 5 in a key game for the Spor Toto Super League title race.

Turkish league leader Başakşehir maintained six point lead atop the Spor Toto Super League standings with April 7's 2-0 victory against Konyaspor.

Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe, struggling in the Turkish league, will seek some comp3ensation when they both play Belgian teams in the Europe League on Nov. 8.

Turkish forward Furkan Korkmaz has signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, completing a "dream move" for the 19-year-old player.

"We are happy to have Furkan Korkmaz join us in Philadelphia this year where we feel he will be best positioned to develop physically and acclimate to the NBA game," Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo said in a statement.
