Bulgaria's economy experiences annual losses amounting to hundreds of millions of euros due to its exclusion from land-based Schengen membership. The enduring queues of lorries at border crossings persist, imposing significant financial burdens on the nation. This situation translates into a substantial increase of 15% to 18% in the prices of goods in shops across the country.
100 Buses and 300 Trucks took part in the Protest of Carriers in Sofia
About 100 buses and 300 trucks took part in the protest of the carriers against the high fuel prices and the introduction of new tariffs for the toll system. They were positioned in front of the Council of Ministers, parliament and from BNB to Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Road Hauliers Set Fire to a Lorry in Plovdiv to Protest Against Mobility Package
Road hauliers in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv set fire to a lorry on 4th of April as a sign of protest against the vote on the Mobility package. The action aims to show that if the new regulation is adopted, it will destroy the transport business in Bulgaria, reports BNT.

"The President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, has withdrawn the Mobile Package pact tonight and returned it to the Transport Committee. Voting on the Mobility Package will not be happening today. This Parliament should not look at this heavily and divided Europe dossier. Today Bulgarian Transport Carriers are on a New Protest
Today a new protest of bus and heavy goods carriers will take place in the country between 11:00 and 17:00. It will support the bill for the Bulgarian Automobile Chamber, which was withdrawn by the National Assembly on the orders of PM Boyko Borisov after a protest by another branch of the industry.
