University of Belgrade students overwhelmingly against Serbia's membership in NATO

BELGRADE - Nearly 88 pct of University of Belgrade students believe Serbia should not join NATO, 39.7 pct said they would not vote for the country's membership in the EU, while 50 pct believe Serbia will never become an EU member state, shows a survey on the University of Belgrade students' views on the Serbian foreign policy.

Almost 88 percent of students of the University of Belgrade believes that Serbia should not become a member of NATO, 39.7 percent would not vote for EU membership, while half believe that Serbia will not become EU member. These are results of the survey "Attitudes of students of the University of Belgrade about foreign policy of Serbia" published on Monday.

University of Belgrade marks 208th anniversary

BELGRADE - The University of Belgrade on Tuesday marked 208 years since the start of lectures at its predecessor, the Belgrade Higher School.

"We mark 208 years since Dositej Obradovic opened the Higher School, which marked the beginning of higher education in Serbia," University of Belgrade Rector Vladimir Bumbasirevic said at the anniversary ceremony.
