Turkey celebrates Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day on May 19, with various events planned in the capital Ankara and around the country.

Twenty people were detained on May 23 in simultaneous operations carried out against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party/ Kurdistan Communities' Union (PKK/KCK) in the western coastal province of İzmir, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
