Director Spike Lee to head Cannes jury
U.S. director Spike Lee has been named president of the jury for the 2020 Cannes Film Festival, organizers said on Jan. 14.
The 62-year-old filmmaker, who succeeds Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, will head the panel that will award the 73rd Palme d'Or prize.

Lanthimos joins jury at next Cannes Film Festival
Greek director, screenwriter and producer Yorgos Lanthimos was selected along with US actress Elle Fanning and Italian director Alice Rohrwacher to be part of the jury at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival in May, the organizers announced on Monday.

Golden Globes: Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant wins big
In a night full of surprises, “The Revenant” and “The Martian” dominated the top film awards at the 73rd Golden Globes.
Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred in the historical drama, won the Best Actor award while Alejandro González Iñárritu was awarded the gong for Best Director, at the ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Sean Penn strikes back: No apologies for joke
Sean Penn strikes back, after the tumult created following his immigration comment about his friend Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Oscar win: “Who gave this bastard a green card?”.
Penn had cooperated with the Mexican director in 2003 for “21 Grams”. His joke made many a social medialite go up in arms, calling it “insulting and racist”, “horrible and disgusting”.

FEST to Champion Serbian Movies
The 43rd annual Belgrade international film festival, FEST 2015, which starts on February 27 and ends on March 8, will feature 90 Serbian premieres, including "Birdman", Alejandro González Iñárritu's film which has received nine Oscar nominations, and Woody Allen's "Magic in the Moonlight".
