National Liberal Party (PNL) Co-Chair Alina Gorghiu revealed that Wednesday's consultations with President Klaus Iohannis included a procedure to respond faster to prosecutors' requests of lifting the immunity of MPs under investigation; she said such a project would be important to restore the Parliament's credibility.

Consultations between President Klaus Iohannis and the parliamentary parties on the legislative priorities opened on Wednesday at the Cotroceni Palace with the delegation of the ruling Social Democrat Party (PSD). The National Liberal Party (PNL, main Opposition force, the former affiliation of the President) was scheduled next.

Co-chair of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Alina Gorghiu said that during Wednesday's meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland, she reiterated the firm commitment of the National Liberal Party towards the rule of law, the strengthening of democratic institutions, good governance and the fight of corruption.
