The European Union and United States have signed a deal on protecting personal data shared by law enforcement authorities in the EU and US.

The mystery over one of the assailants of the March 22 Brussels attack remains, as the Netherlands said that they were not properly informed of the bomber's terror links, while Turkey and the United States claim that they had previously notified relevant authorities. 

Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva and Justice Minister Hristov Ivanov are to pay a one-day working visit to the Netherlands on Monday.

Their agenda includes meetings with Foreign Minsiter Bert Koenders, Security and Justice Minister Ard van der Steur and Immigration Minister Klaas Dijkhoff, daily Dnevnik reports.

A Dutch expert helping to identify victims from last year's MH17 airliner crash in Ukraine has been fired after showing photographs of the dead at a public lecture, the government said on April 23.  

"The collaboration with George Maat has been terminated," Justice Minister Ard van der Steur told lawmakers in parliament.
