Russia's tomato imports from Turkey will be discussed on Aug. 18 in the Aegean province of İzmir, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said on July 25.

Russia on June 2 further relaxed trade sanctions placed on Turkey in the aftermath of the downing of a Russian fighter jet in 2015, as Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Turkey's Economy Ministry on May 24 denied media claims that the country had imposed restrictions on imports of Russian agricultural products.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will pay a visit to Istanbul on May 22 to attend a summit of the Organization of the Black Sea Cooperation (BSEC) and hold talks with senior Turkish officials amid expectations that Moscow will soon lift all sanctions imposed on Turkish agricultural goods. 

Trade and travel restrictions left over from a diplomatic spat with Turkey over a year ago will be lifted within a week, Russia's deputy prime minister said May 17, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.  

"Nearly 99 percent of the work has been completed," Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters in Russia's coastal town of Sochi.        

Russia will not lift restrictions on certain products as long as Turkish duties on Russian grain remain in effect, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said on the sidelines of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum on April 21, as reported by TASS. 

Turkey and Russia are set to hold final talks to resolve their bilateral economic issues on May 6 and 7 after the related technical negotiations are completed, a top Turkish official has said. 

A Turkish delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek travelled to Russia on April 18 to discuss remaining sanctions on Turkish vegetables and a ban on employing Turkish workers.
