Senior Turkish and Israeli senior officials have started a war of words over the Israeli prime minister's controversial participation in a massive anti-terror demonstration in Paris, with his Turkish counterpart comparing his operations in Gaza to jihadist terrorists that killed 17 people last week in the French capital.

Israel won't recognize 1915 as Armenian Genocide: Israeli ambassador to Baku

Israel does not intend to recognize the killings of Armenians in 1915 as a genocide this year, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz has said, the Azerbaijani website Trend reported on Jan. 8.

?Israel is a democratic country. Everybody has two opinions [on the issue], not one,? Harpaz said.

Palestinian resolution fails at UN Security Council

A Palestinian bid to secure a U.N. resolution setting an end date for the occupation failed to pass a Security Council vote in a move Israel hailed Dec. 31 as a victory.

China, France and Russia were among the eight countries that voted in favour of the text, but the resolution fell short of winning the nine "yes" votes necessary for adoption within the 15-member council.        

Greek, Israeli PMs speak after embassy attack
