Israel will never limit east Jerusalem settlement building: FM

Israel will never agree to limit its construction activity in annexed east Jerusalem, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Nov. 16.
      
"One thing should be clear: we will never accept the definition of building in Jewish neighbourhoods of Jerusalem as settlement activity," he said at a news conference with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
      

Cypriot, Israeli ministers invited for talks on energy, security

Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos on Wednesdya invited his Cypriot and Israeli counterparts, Ioannis Kasoulides and Avigdor Lieberman, for talks on closer cooperation on energy and other issues in a bid to forge a similar pact to the one signed in Cairo over the weekend by Greek, Cypriot and Egyptian heads of state.

Israel backs Cyprus gas exploration

Israel said on Wednesday it supported attempts by neighboring Cyprus to carry out natural gas exploration offshore, in spite of objections from Turkey challenging the endeavor.

Cyprus, a member of the European Union, has discovered sizable gas deposits south of the island toward Israel, which has made massive hydrocarbon finds in the past decade.

Cyprus has the right to conduct oil and gas exploratory drilling in its exclusive economic zone (EEZ), Israel's Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has said.

Lieberman, who made the comment after talks between Cypriot and Israeli diplomats met in Nicosia on Wednesday, added that all states in the region should respect international laws and sovereignty.
