Turkey’s main opposition deputy removed from party after controversial speech
Main opposition Republican Peopleâs Party (CHP) deputy Süheyl Batum has been removed from the party due to a speech he made after the resignation of former CHP deputy Emine Ãlker Tarhan.
CHP EskiÅehir deputy Batum was removed from the CHP by the partyâs High Discipline Board on Dec. 11, over his speech in late October.
CHP leader criticized over presidential defeat
The defeat of the two main opposition partiesâ joint candidate has begun to create problems in the Republican Peopleâs Party (CHP), as dissidents within the party are requesting those responsible to be identified concerning the choice for their candidate.
