Norway’s Kvandal win individual World Cup event in Ljubno

Ljubno ob Savinji – After Slovenia won the team Ski Jumping World Cup event for women in Ljubno ob Savinji on Saturday, Ema Klinec finished second in today’s individual event behind Eirin Maria Kvandal of Norway. Joining them on the podium with the third place is Marita Kramer of Austria.

First World Cup team event win for Slovenia women’s ski jumpers

Ljubno ob Savinji – Slovenian women’s ski jumpers Ema Klinec, Špela Rogelj, Urša Bogataj in Nika Križnar won Saturday’s World Cup team event, in what is their first-ever team event win. The victory comes after they finished second at the same venue, in Slovenia’s Ljubno ob Savinji, in 2019 and 2020.

Ski jumper Nika Križnar second in Ramsau

Ramsau – Slovenian ski jumper Nika Križnar placed second in the opening World Cup event for women in Austria’s Ramsau on Friday, in what is her career best. Another Slovenian, Urša Bogataj, finished fourth.

With jumps of 91.5 and 94 metres and 245.1 points, Križnar, 20, was only outperformed by Austria’s Marita Kramer (94 and 96 metres and 253.6 points).

Slovenian govt, NGOs welcome bolder EU greenhouse gas emissions goal

Ljubljana – The government and environmental NGO have welcomed the EU summit’s decision to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 by at least 55%. The Environment Ministry believes the goal is realistic, whereas the NGOs would like it even more ambitious. A climatologist meanwhile says that for a true global impact, the EU should get China and the US on board.
