The 1st Hellenic International Jazz Festival comes to Petra Theater
Jazz lovers in Greece will now have their own annual music celebration. It will take place at the Petra Theater in Petroupoli on September 13, 14, and 15, hosting the Jazzét Festival – 1st Hellenic International Jazz Festival.
Storyboards for doomed 'Dune' film up for auction
It has entered film folklore as one of the great missed opportunities: the doomed 1970s adaptation of "Dune" that was supposed to bring together Salvador Dali, Mick Jagger and Pink Floyd.
The project famously collapsed after four years of work by cult Franco-Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky, but now his storyboards are going up for auction in Paris on Nov. 22.

Paspala & Farantouri | Athens | March 8

Dora Bakopoulos, the artistic director of the Aegina International Music Festival, will be inaugurating the 14th edition of the annual event on the Saronic island on August 7. For almost three weeks, classical music aficionados will be able to enjoy performances by a plethora of musicians from Greece and abroad.
Lost Highway | Athens | July 5
The next installation of the Athens Open Air Film Festival takes place on Friday, July 5, with a screening of David Lynch's "Lost Highway," a mystery thriller that follows a protagonist sentenced to death for murder. The film, which grossed $3.7 million in North America after three weeks, attracted a cult following for its confusing yet oddly intriguing screenplay.

Tainiorama | Athens | May 16 - July 3
More than 140 films that have been screened and/or awarded at leading European film festivals such as Cannes and Berlin make up the seven-week annual Tainiorama film panorama, taking place at the Asty cinema in downtown Athens from May 16 to July 3. There will be three screenings every night - starting at 6 p.m. - with films organized according to theme.

Leonard Cohen Tribute | Athens | Saturdays-Sundays

Chrysta Bell | Athens | April 4
Chrysta Bell, the singer and actress who has lent her voice to a number of emblematic tracks in David Lynch's surreal dramas, performs at Gagarin 205 on Wednesday, April 4, starting at 9 p.m. The artist will be performing songs from her latest album, "We Dissolve," as well as from the Lynch-produced "This Train" and "Somewhere in the Nowhere," among other work.
