Suspect in Russia metro bombing travelled to Turkey, say co-workers
The man Russian police believe was the suicide bomber who killed 14 people in a blast on the St. Petersburg metro this week developed an interest in Islam and soon after travelled to Turkey, two people who know him told Reuters.

CNN Türk's Fırat appointed Hürriyet's new Ankara bureau chief
The Ankara bureau chief of CNN Türk, Hande Fırat, has been appointed as the new Ankara bureau chief of daily Hürriyet, replacing Deniz Zeyrek who had been serving as the Ankara representative since late 2013.
Fırat had been serving as CNN Türk's bureau chief since 2010.
Turkish FM on way to Moscow for Syria talks as Russian envoy killed in Ankara
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu was on his way to Moscow to meet with his Russian and Iranian counterparts to discuss Syria, as Russian Ambassador to Ankara Andrey Karlov was shot dead in Ankara on Dec. 19, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hüseyin Müftüoğlu confirmed to the Hürriyet Daily News.

AKP fails to pass the corruption test
On Jan. 20, parliament voted on whether to send four former ministers to the Supreme Council to be put on trial on charges of corruption and graft. Three opposition parties, along with around 40 ruling party lawmakers, voted in favor of sending them to the court, but they failed to provide the necessary 276 votes.
