Germany's iconic Oktoberfest beer festival will once again take place in Munich in 2022 after being cancelled two years running due to the coronavirus, the city's mayor said on April 29. 

Russian conductor Valery Gergiev was dropped by his management company over his ties to Russia President Vladimir Putin.

The 68-year-old Russian had been represented since 2020 by Munich-based Marcus Felsner, who started his own management company that year after leaving Opus3.

This year's edition of the famous Oktoberfest beer festival, traditionally organized each fall in Munich, has been canceled due to the spread of the coronavirus. This was reported by the German newspaper Bild, citing sources, quoted by TASS.
