An Istanbul court has ruled for the release of four suspects from the gendarmerie in the case into the killing of Turkish-Armenian journalistHrant Dink in 2007. Two gendarmerie officers who posed for a photo with Dink hitman Ogün Samast while holding a Turkish flag were among those released.

A former intelligence officer has stated that it was the chief prosecutor who ordered Ogün Samast, the killer of Turkish-Armenian journalistHrant Dink in 2007, to be filmed in front of a Turkish flag.

Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Minister Fikri I??k admitted that the investigation into the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalistHrant Dink had been delayed, and blamed the "parallel state" for the delay.

No solid legal steps have been taken in the nine years since Armenian-origin journalistHrant Dink was assassinated outside his office in Istanbul on Jan. 19, 2007, as thousands of people gathered to commemorate the late Agos editor-in-chief on the anniversary of his death.
