Bosnia Rejects Fugitive Serb War Crimes Convict’s Appeal

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday rejected an appeal from Dragan Marjanovic, a wartime commander of a platoon of the Bosnian Serb Army Teslic Brigade's military police.

The court ruled that there was no violation of Marjanovic's right to a fair trial and that the verdict was not based on unlawful evidence.

Serbia Takes Over Case Against Bosnian Serb Military Policeman

The War Crimes Section of the Higher Court in Belgrade has granted a request by the Bosnian Justice Ministry to recognise a verdict from the Bosnian state court convicting former military policeman Dragomir Kezunovic of committing crimes against humanity during the Bosnian war.

Interpol Warrants Issued for Two Bosnian Serb War Convicts

Bosnia and Herzegovina is seeking the arrests of Bosnian Serb ex-policeman Darko Mrdja and ex-military policeman Dragan Marjanovic, who both absconded after second-instance verdicts convicted them of wartime crimes.

'Red notices' calling on countries worldwide to assist in detaining them have been posted on Interpol's website.

Sentences Cut for Bosnian Serbs Behind Teslic Massacre

Under a first instance verdict in July last year, Dragan Marjanovic, Sasa Gavranovic, Vitomir Devic and Zoran Sljuka were each sentenced to 17 years in prison for the murders. Dragomir Kezunovic was sentenced to 14 years.

The Appeals Chamber revised the prison terms for Marjanovic to 14 years, and for Gavranovic, Devic and Sljuka to 15 years each.

Bosnian Serb Ex-Military Policemen Appeal Massacre Convictions

Former Bosnian Serb military policemen Dragan Marjanovic, Sasa Gavranovic, Vitomir Devic, Zoran Sljuka and Dragomir Kezunovic launched an appeal against their convictions for crimes against humanity at the Bosnian state court in Sarajevo on Friday.

The men's defence lawyers called on the court's appeals chamber to acquit them or order a new trial.
