Hundreds of visitors from all over Bosnia descended at the weekend on Mount Jahorina, one of the country's three 'Olympic mountains', to enjoy the early winter sunshine and mark the official opening of a new ski season.

Local officials and rock bands from Sarajevo and Belgrade also arrived for the opening ceremony, but the main ingredient was still missing - snow. 

Complaints filed over deadly Tigar Tyres accident

PIROT -- The Labor Inspection has filed three criminal and two minor charges complaints against responsible persons at the Pirot-based Tigar Tyres factory.

They are held responsible for the accident that happened at the factory on April 23 that resulted in the death of three workers.

Town to observe day of mourning for workers

PIROT -- The town of Pirot in southeastern Serbia will observe a day of mourning on May 7 for three workers of the Tigar Tyres company.

The website Juzne Vesti reported on Wednesday that the decision was made by the Municipal Council.

Second Tigar Tyres worker dies in Germany

PIROT -- Another of the three Tigar Tyres workers severely injured in an accident on April 23 has passed away.

The Pirot-based Tigar Tyres company made the announcement on Tuesday.

Miodrag Panic, a maintenance worker, died on April 27 shortly after 8 p.m, the company said.
