Logar promises Austria full transparency about nuclear plans

Ljubljana – Foreign Minister Anže Logar assured his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg on Friday that Slovenia would be completely transparent about its plans to build a second unit at the Krško nuclear power station, in particular when it comes to environmental impact assessment.

FM says Slovenia ready to accept additional Afghan collaborators

Ljubljana/Brussels – Slovenia is ready to accept up to five members of the Afghan staff that collaborated with the EU to show solidarity with other EU member states, Foreign Minister Anže Logar said on Wednesday. For the time being, Slovenia will not offer taking in additional refugees from Afghanistan.

Education minister tests positive for coronavirus

Ljubljana – Education Minister Simona Kustec has tested positive for coronavirus. She announced on Twitter she was isolating since Saturday, but added that all activities for the safe start of the school year continued.

The minister received the first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine on 23 March and appears to have been fully vaccinated.

Maribor – A debate on future development of Slovenia and the EU as part of the Youth Strategic Forum in Maribor on Saturday heard Defence Minister and coalition New Slovenia (NSi) president Matej Tonin noting that it was right that young people were interested in the future, as it depended on them.

Germany, UK Reaffirm Commitment to Western Balkans
