Princess Margareta and Prince Radu welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace
Princess Margareta, the elder daughter of ex-sovereign of Romania Michael I and her husband Prince Radu were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, King Michael's Press Office announced in a release to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
The meeting at Buckingham Palace was an invitation to tea at 5 p.m., the release added.
British royal couple arrives in New York
Crowds of jubilant royal watchers cheered as Britain's Prince William and his pregnant wife Kate arrived in New York on Dec. 7, kicking off a three-day trip to the East Coast.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's motorcade pulled up outside the Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side around 5:45 pm (2245 GMT), and the couple smiled broadly before heading into the building.

Commonwealth Games open in colourful, moving ceremony
Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the 20th Commonwealth Games at Celtic Park on Wednesday after a moving and colourful ceremony in front of a 40,000 capacity crowd.
The Games will feature 17 sports across 11 days of competition with more than 4,500 athletes from 71 nations competing, making the event the biggest Scotland has ever hosted.

World Marks D-Day 70th Anniversary
The world marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the largest landing of troops by sea in history.
On June 6, 1944, around 160,000 Allied troops landed on the French coast of Normandy – in an operation to defeat the Nazi German army and liberate Europe. Around 3,000 of them would lose their lives on this day, while another 9,000 were wounded or missing.
