MEPs Will Again Discuss Political Situation in Bulgaria
The Monitoring Group on Democracy, the Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs in the European Parliament will discuss the situation in Bulgaria for the second time. The subcommittee meeting will be virtual, the BNR said.
Bulgarian Parliament's Legal Committee Rejected President's Veto on Penal Code
Parliament's Legal Committee rejected the presidential veto on the changes to the Penal Code and re-voted the possibility of delaying the notification upon detention for up to 48 hours, reports BNT.
On December 19, Bulgaria's head of state returned the law for new debates. He questioned provisions providing for a 48-hour delay of the notification upon detention.

Sofia Court Releases KTB CEO on Bail, Leaves Other Two in Custody
Sofia City Court released Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) chief executive Orlin Rusev on bail and placed Chief Cashier Mariya Dimova under house arrest, officials reported.
After a nine-hour-long session that started Sunday and ended early on Monday, it also decided that Chief Accountant Margarita Petrova and her deputy Borislava Treneva - Kyuchukova should remain in detention.
