Lake that once hosted migratory birds dries up

Lake Karataş, one of the most important wetlands in Turkey's southwest, has dried up due to global warming and the misusage of its water for agricultural purposes.

Founder of Çiftlik Bank extradited to Turkey

Mehmet Aydın, the mastermind of the Çiftlik Bank (Farm Bank) Ponzi scheme, who has been on the run for three years, was extradited to Turkey late on July 3.

Aydın, who surrendered to the Turkish Consulate in Sao Paulo, was arrested at the Istanbul Airport in an ongoing investigation by Istanbul prosecutors after a Turkish Airlines plane arrived at 10.10 p.m.
