Southeast clashes heat up, 25 PKK militants killed

Turkish security forces killed 25 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants during two days of clashes in two southeastern towns, the armed forces stated on Dec. 17, as President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an vowed to push ahead with operations in the region.

Eight members of the security forces were wounded and one civilian was also killed, according to the statement.

A Peoples? Democratic Party (HDP) deputy, who entered Turkey?s southeastern province of ??rnak?s Cizre district, where a curfew has been in place since Sept. 4, said two young people were killed in clashes with security forces, while the damages of the clashes in Diyarbak?r?s Sur district following the lift of a day-long curfew have been revealed.

Investigation authorization report for a total of nine deputies, including the Republican People?s Party (CHP) Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu, have been sent to the parliament at the same time, as two separate criminal investigations into Peoples? Democratic Party (HDP) co-leaders Selahattin Demirta? and Figen Yüksekda?.
