The Independent Authority for Public Revenue, known by its Greek acronym AADE, demands that its inspectors bring in revenue amounting to five times the cost of inspections. AADE Governor George Pitsilis notes that, while the collection of fines for tax code violations has improved, still only a small percentage of the attested fines is collected.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday (8/8), the capability to automatically create and submit real estate data declarations (E9) will be extended to more cases of gift tax declarations and parental provision of real estate, submitted through the myPROPERTY application. This follows the decision by the Governor of the Independent Public Revenue Authority, George Pitsilis (A.1130/2024).

The tax office, in collaboration with other relevant authorities, will conduct biannual cross-checks to identify approximately 500,000 uninsured vehicles, vehicles with unpaid road tax, and vehicles that have not passed MOT inspections.

Thousands of Greek taxpayers, who "forgot" to declare to the Tax Office the income from their salaries or pensions they receive from abroad, were identified by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) through the process of automatic exchange of information with other countries.
