650-Euro low income earners under the ‘hammer’ with new tax system
The Greek government is ‘loading’ the ‘tab’ of the measures on low income earners, in an effort to strike a deal with its creditors before Orthodox Easter. Greeks with a monthly salary between 650 and 2,000 Euros will shoulder the taxation and social security reforms, with employees expected to see an immediate impact on their wages in May, if the bill is passed after Easter.

Euclid Tsakalotos meets with IMF head Lagarde in Washington
Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos had a series of meetings in Washington during the IMF-World Bank summit in an effort to present his views on the progress of negotiations between the country and its lenders. On the sidelines of the Summit, Tsakalotos met with IMF Director Christine Lagarde and agreed that the IMF representatives would return to Athens next week.

The Greek side released a new announcement informing the press that the meeting, scheduled to start at 4 pm Monday would be postponed until 2 hours later at 6.

Greece will act as a conduit between Iran and EU, says PM Tsipras
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visited the Tehran’s Pardis Technology Park (PTP) on Sunday in the framework of his two-day visit in Iran and presented what he called a framework of cooperation between Greece and Iran.
Mr. Tsipras stressed that the two countries could work together in the areas of technology, innovation, energy, trade, culture and shipping.
