Less than a year after construction of the final work on the bridge dividing the southern and northern parts of northern Kosovo town of Mitrovica was interrupted in April 2017, work on completing the bridge has started again.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Srpska list won a landslide victory in all majority-Serb municipalities in Sunday's local elections in Kosovo-Metohija.

Srpska list leader Goran Rakic told reporters outside the party's electoral headquarters it had won 80 pct of the vote in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The Serb (Srpska) List has declared victory in Sunday's local elections "in all municipalities with a Serb majority in Kosovo and Metohija."

According to the Serb List and the preliminary results, its leader and candidate for mayor of northern Kosovska Mitrovica Goran Rakic has also won convincingly.

"There will be a runoff, but in four years," said Rakic.

The construction of "a new, more solid" concrete supporting structure instead of a supporting wall that was removed on Sunday will start on Tuesday.

Peace Park "won't be removed without agreement"

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- Peace Park on the main bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica will not be removed until a solution acceptable both for Serb and Albanian communities has been found.
