Turkey Offers Scholarships to Bulgaria, Western Thrace
Turkey on Thursday offered to waive off university fee for Turkish minority students from Bulgaria and Western Thrace, Anadolu Agency reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Cavusoglu announced the decision as he received Chairman of Western Thrace Advisory Board Ibrahim Sharif and his delegation at the Cankaya Palace, the prime minister's office in the capital Ankara.
Turkey's first lady to visit Bangladesh on Sept 6 to meet Rohingya Muslims
Turkey's first lady Emine Erdoğan will visit Bangladesh on Sept. 6 amid the ongoing tragedy of tens of thousands Rohingya Muslims forced to flee the violence in Myanmar, Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Çavuşoğlu has said.
Speaking on private broadcaster ATV, Çavuşoğlu confirmed that the first lady will have "close contact" with Rohingya Muslims who had escaped from Myanmar.
Deputy PM Bozdağ appointed as new gov't spokesperson
Former Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ, who was appointed as deputy prime minister last week in a government reshuffle, has been appointed as the new government spokesperson.
Bozdağ held his first press conference as the spokesperson following a cabinet meeting after the reshuffle. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım named legislator Abdulhamit Gül as the new justice minister.
