The foreign ministers of Türkiye and Syria will meet under the mediation of Russia and with the participation of Iran in a four-way encounter in Moscow and discuss normalization of bilateral ties, fight against terrorism, Ankara has announced.

The foreign ministers of Middle East rivals Iran and Saudi Arabia met in Beijing on Thursday, Tehran said, paving the way for normalised ties under a surprise China-brokered deal.

Welcoming the deal between the "two brotherly countries," the King of Saudi Arabia has invited Iran's President to visit Riyadh, Al Jazeera reported quoting an Iranian official.

Iran's top diplomat has said Tehran understands Türkiye's security concerns stemming from northern Syria amid Ankara's vows over a new military incursion against the presence of the terrorist organizations.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Nov. 15 arrived in Iran for talks with his counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Nov. 14 that Çavuşoğlu would visit Iran at the invitation of his counterpart.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu spoke on Oct. 21 over the phone with his counterparts from both Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Çavuşoğlu and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed regional issues, especially developments related to Afghanistan and Syria, as well as bilateral relations, said a Foreign Ministry statement.

Tehran's diplomatic row with Saudi Arabia will affect Syrian peace talks, Iran's deputy foreign minister said Jan. 6, adding that his government would remain committed to the talks. 

Iran will be invited to participate in talks in Vienna on Oct. 30 to discuss ending the conflict in Syria, a dialogue aimed at finding a framework for political transition in Damascus, the U.S. State Department said on Oct. 27. 

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Syria on August 12 and discuss a "new plan" by the Islamic republic to help resolve the conflict there, his spokeswoman said.
