Vucic: Serbia will conduct its own policy

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has reiterated Serbia would conduct its own policy by pursuing its own interests - not the interests of any foreign power, including the US, Russia and the EU.

Vucic said this in response to the most recent statement by US Ambassador to Macedonia Hoyt Brian Yee, who also said a few months ago that Serbia could not "sit on two chairs."

"Serbia has to choose one bloc - and it already did"

Nevertheless, he added that it has already done so by entering the EU membership negotiations.

Kleine-Brockhoff told the Beta agency in an interview that basic regulations of the European Union do not prohibit member countries from maintaining good relations with countries outside the Union, and that by joining the EU Serbia could influence EU's foreign policy.

Norwegian ambassador: What kind of signal is Serbia sending to EU?

The Norwegian ambassador in Belgrade has told Blic in an interview that the debate about "the chairs" Serbia is sitting on distracts from important topics.

Arne Sannes Bjornstad says that instead, Serbia should ask itself what kind of signal it is sending to the European Union.

Vucic: Conversation with Yee was not easy

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said late Monday his conversation with US official Hoyt Brian Yee had not been easy but that his job was to protect Serbia's interests.

Yee said the US supported the "territorial integrity of the independent state of Kosovo" and his message was we should not "interfere" in that territorial integrity, Vucic said on a Pink TV talk show.
