Plovdiv Faces Severe Air Pollution as Fine Dust Levels Soar Sevenfold

The air quality in Plovdiv has significantly deteriorated, with fine dust particle levels exceeding the norms by seven times, according to Ivan Stoyanov, the Deputy Mayor for Ecology and Health. Stoyanov, who is currently at the Tsalapitsa fire site, reported that mobile air quality stations detected a concentration of 350 mg/m³ of fine dust particles (FDP) 10.

Huge Heroin Bust in Bulgaria

Bulgarian customs officials have seized 712kg of heroin from inside two Iranian trucks entering Bulgaria from Turkey.

Officials on Friday valued the record heroin haul at NZ million.

The drugs were found in two Iran-registered trucks at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the Turkish border.

They were carrying construction materials and were bound for Austria.

Malta won the the thirteenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which was held at the Arena Armeec hall in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia on Saturday evening.

Destiny Chukunyere performing the song "Not My Soul!" won with 185 points, finishing nine points ahead of the second-placed Armenia.

Bulgaria Hosts Final of 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday

Bulgaria will host the thirteenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest at the Arena Armeec hall in Sofia on Saturday evening at 20:30 EET.

A total of seventeen countries will participate in this year's edition of the song contest, with Australia and Ireland making their debut.

Gabriela Yordanova Unveils Bulgaria's 2015 Junior Eurovision Entry

Twelve-year-old Bulgarian singer, Gabriela Yordanova, who will be representing Bulgaria at this year's edition of the Junior Eurovision after winning the national selection in September, officially presented her song on Sunday.

The song is entitled "Cvetat na Nadejdata" ("The Colour of Hope") and the lyrics were co-written by Gabriela and poet Ivaylo Valchev.
