Malta Wins 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest Hosted by Bulgaria

Destiny Chukunyere from Malta is this year's winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Malta won the the thirteenth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which was held at the Arena Armeec hall in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia on Saturday evening.

Destiny Chukunyere performing the song "Not My Soul!" won with 185 points, finishing nine points ahead of the second-placed Armenia.

Slovenia took the third place, with the hosts Bulgaria represented by Gabriela Yordanova and Ivan Stoyanov with their song the "Colour of Hope" finishing ninth with 62 points.

A total of seventeen countries participated in this year's edition of the song contest.

Malta achieved the most convincing victory ever in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, improving the Spanish achievement from 2004.

This is the second victory for Malta in the past three years after the country had won in 2013.

Malta was the host of the 2014 edition, when Bulgaria represented by Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim finished second only twelve points behind Vincenzo Cantiello from Italy.

After the winning country refused to host this year's edition of the contest, the right to do so was granted to second-placed Bulgaria.
