Debbie Reynolds, the indefatigable star of Singin’ in the Rain, who bounced back time and again on the strength of a career that spanned the golden age of the Hollywood musical to the new golden age of TV, died on Dec. 28 at the age of 84 in Los Angeles.

FIFA decided to suspend both FIFA president Sepp Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini due to corruption allegations.

Outgoing FIFA president Sepp Blatter, aged 79, is under investigation by FBI and US prosecutors following a corruption scandal that has rocked the international football scene. News reports that Blatter announced his intention to resign from his post as FIFA president on Tuesday coincides with a probe into his activities following the arrest of 14 FIFA officials.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter highlighted the need of 'deep-rooted structural change' at the organisation when he announced his decision to step down.

"For years, we have worked hard to put in place administrative reforms, but it is plain to me that while these must continue, they are not enough," Blatter said in remarks posted on FIFA website.

Several top officials of FIFA were arrested early morning Wednesday in Zurich on account of corruption accusations.

Swiss authorities conducted a specialize doperation and arrested more than ten officials, the New York Times reported.
