Djokovic overcomes Mischa Zverev

SHANGHAI - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the current world number one in men's tennis, is through to the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters tournament after beating world number 110 Mischa Zverev 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 on Friday.

Djokovic struggled but won after 143 minutes of play, and is now 2-0 head-to-head against the elder Zverev.

Troicki knocked out of Shanghai Masters

SHANGHAI - Serbia's Viktor Troicki has been knocked out of the Shanghai Masters tennis tournament after losing 6-3, 6-3 to Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut in the third round on Thursday.

Bautista Agut won after just 75 minutes of play and is now 3-0 head-to-head against Troicki, who had defeated Rafael Nadal in the previous round.

Djokovic to face Monfils in bid to reach US Open final

NEW YORK - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the current world number one in men's tennis, is through to the US Open semi-finals after Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga retired from Wednesday's quarter-final match with a knee injury.

Tsonga quit at the beginning of the third set, with Djokovic leading 6-3, 6-2.

In a bid to reach the final, Djokovic will face Gael Monfils of France.

Djokovic through to US Open quarter-finals

NEW YORK - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the current world number one in men's tennis, is through to the US Open quarter-finals after beating Kyle Edmund of Great Britain 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 early Monday.

Djokovic produced a flawless performance against world number 84 Edmund and will next face Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who knocked out American Jack Sock.
