The European Union finance ministers reached a compromise agreement for the new Stability and Growth Pact on Wednesday during an Ecofin teleconference, after weeks of arduous consultations on the new reform framework on the pace of debt and deficit reduction by member-states.

National Economy and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said on Tuesday that "this is the first time that Greece has received so much in funding for the digital transformation of the economy," speaking at the Digital Economy Forum Shaping Greece's Digital Future conference of the Association of Informatics and Communications, where he represented Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The government will next month submit to Parliament the new taxation framework with the establishment of a minimum tax rate of 15% for large multinational companies as well as large Greek groups.
