The grand military parade marked the conclusion of today’s celebrations for the triple commemoration of Saint Demetrius, the patron saint of Thessaloniki, the anniversary of Thessaloniki’s liberation, and the national anniversary of October 28, 1940.

House of celebrated poet to be restored
After years of abandonment, the house in the Plaka district of Athens once belonging to the celebrated Greek poet Kostis Palamas, will be restored and given a new lease on life as a landmark and as a place to exhibit his work and to study modern Greek literature.

Holiday Stroll | Athens | December 31
The voluntary group Full Moon Hikes invites walkers on a holiday stroll in the heart of Athens to sing traditional New Year's carols. The walk will start at the War Museum at noon, take in the National Garden, the house of the Greek poet Kostis Palamas, and into the scenic neighborhood of Anafiotika.

Greece celebrates October 28th: Pilot’s message “Honor to those who guard Thermopylae”
An impressive demonstration of acrobatics and daring maneuvers was presented for one more year by the "ZEUS" team of the Hellenic Air Force, with the "protagonist" being the F-16 Block52+ Fighting Falcon aircraft of the 340th Squadron belonging to the 115th Fighter Wing and piloted by the major, Christodoulos Giakoumis.
