Introduction of Toll Taxes in Bulgaria Expected to Triple Road Revenues

Bulgarian Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova forecasted that the introduction of toll roads in the country will double or triple the revenues generated from road charges.

The toll system will be applicable to cargo vehicles with a weight above 3.5 tonnes and drivers will be charged depending on the distance covered by them.

Bulgaria will sign a consultancy services agreement in the water and sewerage sector with the World Bank, the government has announced.

Bulgarian Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova stated that the roads in the region of Silistra will be closed to all traffic as the situation there remains most critical.

At present, the roads in the region are closed for heavy traffic, with their gradual closure to all traffic forthcoming.
