Serbia joins EU's HELBROC battlegroup

BELGRADE - A note on Serbia's accession to a technical agreement on establishing the EU's HELBROC Battlegroup was signed in Brussels on Tuesday.

The note was signed by the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, and his Greek counterpart, Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, the Serbian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Serbian Army (VS) Chief of General Staff Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic has urged KFOR to take all measures to maintain peace and security for citizens in Kosovo.

Speaking on Monday, he also pointed to a "fragile" security situation in the province after the decision of the Kosovo authorities on the Trepca mining basing, Tanjug reported.

BITOLA - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Friday laid a wreath at the Serbian military cemetery in Bitola, Republic of Macedonia, as part of the centenary commemorations of the WWI Battle of Kajmakcalan.

Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik also laid a wreath at the final resting place of 1,321 Serbian soldiers who fell in the Balkan Wars and WWI.

Serbia, Russia Sign Military Cooperation Plan for 2016

BELGRADE - Russia and Serbia signed a plan on Tuesday that sets out agenda for military cooperation between the two partners throughout 2016, the Serbia's Defense Ministry said.

The bilateral deal was inked in Belgrade by Serbian Ministry's international cooperation chief Milan Konjikovac and Russia's military attache in Serbia Andrei Kindyakov.
