Ski resorts struggling with warm weather
Unseasonably warm weather has forced several Slovenian ski slopes to close due to a lack of snow. Not only is there no snowfall, but the temperatures are too high to make artificial snow. The resorts that remain open struggle to maintain skiing conditions.

Sweeping easing of restrictions as Slovenia formally moves to orange tier
Ljubljana – Following a gradual but persistent decrease in coronavirus infections and hospitalisations, Slovenia has entered orange tier, with the government deciding on Thursday for a sweeping easing of restrictions. Movement will once again be allowed throughout the country and primary schools will reopen in full on Monday, among other things.
Ski lift operators demand end of obligatory testing for skiers
Ljubljana – Ski resorts demand that the government abolish obligatory coronavirus tests for skiers, Manuela Božič Badalič, president of an association of ski lift operators, said on Monday following a meeting of representatives of all ski resorts. Unless the testing requirement is abolished, they will mount a Constitutional Court challenge.
Slovenia expects EU guidelines on ski season
Ljubljana – The government has not yet taken a position regarding Italy’s appeal to close ski centres around Europe during the December holidays, the Economy Ministry told the STA. The ministry expects the European Commission to send recommendations for the skiing season to member states.
