Mehmet Ferhan Yorulmaz, Turkey's consul general in St. Petersburg, Russia, has passed away, the country's foreign minister announced on July 5.
Cairo hails Ankara's efforts to normalize relations
Egypt has praised recent steps by Turkey towards normalizing ties between the two countries.
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said in a TV interview late on July 3 that the softening of criticism towards the Egyptian government by Turkey-based opposition channels was preparing the ground for normalizing relations.
Turkish FM calls on international community to take chance on Cyprus issue
Following recent attempts to relaunch talks aimed to resolve the Cyprus dispute, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has called on the international community to "take a chance," while recalling that Turkish Cyprus has taken a position for a two-state solution in the last meeting in Genova.
Turkish, Russian foreign ministers to meet in Turkey
The Turkish and Russian foreign ministers, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Sergey Lavrov, respectively will meet in the Mediterranean province of Antalya on June 30 to discuss a wide range of regional issues including Syria and Afghanistan as well as bilateral relations, the two ministries announced in separate statements.
Turkish foreign minister meets Canadian, Lithuanian counterparts
The Turkish foreign minister on June 27 met his Canadian and Lithuanian counterparts separately in Rome.
"Met with the Foreign Ministers of Canada and Lithuania, Marc Garneau and Gabrielius Landsbergis in Rome, where we came to attend the Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIL and the Ministerial with limited participation on Syria," Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Twitter.
FM Çavuşoğlu to attend anti-ISIL coalition meeting
Turkey's foreign minister is set to attend a meeting of an international coalition against ISIL terrorist group in Italy on June 28.
"Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat DAESH which will be held in Rome on 28 June 2021, co-hosted by Italy and the U.S.," said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.

Turkish Cypriot leader calls on EU leaders to 'see realities' of Cyprus
Turkish Cypriot President Ersin Tatar called on EU leaders on June 25 to "see the realities" on the island.
"I once again call on them (EU leaders) to see the realities of Cyprus," Tatar told reporters following a meeting with U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Brussels.
Turkish foreign minister meets German counterpart, Libyan premier
Turkish foreign minister on June 23 met with his German counterpart and Libyan prime minister ahead of the second Berlin Conference on Libya.
"We discussed Libya, our EU relations in the context of immigration and customs union and tourism issues with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas," Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu wrote on Twitter.
Çavuşoğlu also shared two photographs from the meeting.
Turkey pledges to strengthen ties with Africa
The Turkish foreign minister vowed on June 22 to further strengthen relations with African countries, citing the fact that the number of African missions in Ankara has increased from 10 to 37 in the last 13 years as evidence.
