Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on May 18 met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Ankara to discuss the situation in Palestine amid continual Israeli bombardment.

Discussed Israel's atrocities in Palestine, our relations and Afghan peace process, Çavuşoğlu said on Twitter.

Ankara will never stop supporting the Palestinian cause, the Turkish foreign minister said on May 18. 

"Under the leadership of our president [Recep Tayyip Erdogan], and with the power vested in us by our parliament, we will never give up supporting the Palestinian cause," Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu told lawmakers in parliament.

Turkey has vowed to take any necessary step for the Palestinians under the Israeli attack while calling on the world to stand united and determined.

Turkey's foreign minister on May 15 spoke to his Sudanese counterpart and the EU foreign policy chief about the situation in Palestine.

In separate phone calls with Mariam al-Mahdi and Josep Borell, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu discussed the latest developments in Palestine and steps to be taken in the international arena, according to diplomatic sources.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia will maintain dialogue to address their disagreements, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on May 11, after discussing bilateral ties and Israeli attacks in Jerusalem and Gaza with his Saudi counterpart in Mecca.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has started his two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia after years of strained relations with the Gulf country since the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.
