Turkish, Bahrain foreign ministers talk over phone

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on April 4 spoke to his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, said diplomatic sources.

The two top diplomats discussed Turkish-Bahraini ties as well as possible mutual visits during the conversation, said the sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

UNGA head to visit refugee camps in Turkey

Volkan Bozkır, The Turkish diplomat heading the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), said on March 31 that he will depart on his first official trip since taking office to visit Turkey, Qatar and Azerbaijan.

He said his stops will include Hatay in Turkey where he will meet Syrian refugees and visit the U.N. cross-border humanitarian mechanism.

Dialogue lifts hopes for peace in Afghanistan: Çavuşoğlu

The Turkish foreign minister on March 30 welcomed peace negotiations between the representatives of the Afghan government and the Taliban in Doha, Qatar.

"Intra-Afghan negotiations have raised hopes to achieve lasting peace," said Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu at the 9th Ministerial Meeting of Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process, in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

Turkish foreign minister meets Indian counterpart

In Tajikistan for a regional conference, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on March 29 met with a number of his counterparts, including India's Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

Afterwards, Çavuşoğlu said on Twitter: "Discussed our relations and regional developments w/Foreign Minister @DrSJaishankar of #India." 

FM Çavuşoğlu meets officials in Tajikistan

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met government officials in Tajikistan's capital on March 29.

"Discussed w/ Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Speaker of House of Representatives of #Tajikistan, increasing inter-parliamentary contacts after the pandemic," he wrote on Twitter. "Parliamentary diplomacy will further strengthen our brotherly relations."
