March 2004 pogrom of Serbs in Kosovo remembered in schools
The first class in schools across Serbia today was dedicated to the March 17, 2004 anti-Serb violence in Kosovo, known in Serbia as "the March pogrom."
On the anniversary of the start of the riots, ministers of education and labor Mladen Sarcevic and Aleksandar Vulin visited the Petar Petrovic Njegos elementary in Belgrade and spoke with eighth grade students there.

PRAGUE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Tuesday arrived on an official visit to the Czech Republic.
Nikolic was ceremonially welcomed by his counterpart Milos Zeman, with many citizens gathering outside the presidential palace in Prague to see their encounter, Nikolic's presidential press office said in a statement.

Good cooperation with Serbia on education of minorities
BELGRADE - Serbia's Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Sarcevic spoke with the director of the Hague-based Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Henrik Villadsen, who stated that he values the cooperation with Serbia in the field of education of national minorities.
"We'll protect Serbian language from bad influences"
Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic has said that his ministry "will do everything to protect the Serbian language from bad influences."
He spoke during the final ceremony of the 83rd Vuk's Assembly - an annual gathering held in the village of Trsic, western Serbia, the birthplace of Vuk Karadzic, Serbia's 19th century language reformer.
