India protests rage on as death toll rises to 20
Thousands of people joined fresh rallies against a contentious citizenship law in India on Dec. 21, with 20 killed so far in the unrest.
The death toll jumped after demonstrations turned violent on Dec. 20 in the most populous state of Uttar Pradesh, leaving at least 11 dead including an eight-year-old boy, who was trampled.

Mitsotakis to meet Guterres, Anastasiades, Mondi on Thursday
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' program in New York on Thursday begins with a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at 9.40 a.m. (local time).
He will then meet with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and at 12.30, he will meet with India's counterpart Narendra Modi.

Khan had stated this in time of growing closeness between U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who discussed things twice in the course of the last three days. Trump invited two sides to overcome differences.

Indians have begun voting in the first phase of a general election that is being seen as a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reported BBC.
Tens of millions of Indians across 20 states and union territories are voting in 91 constituencies.
The seven-phase vote to elect a new lower house of parliament will continue until 19 May. Counting day is 23 May.

At Least 55 Killed in a Bus Crash in India

HYDERABAD, India (AP) — A bus carrying pilgrims from a Hindu temple in the hills of south India plunged off a road Tuesday, killing at least 55 people including four children, officials said. At least 33 others were injured.
