Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati has stated that public finance continues to be one of the strongest elements of the Turkish economy despite all the negative developments in the world, and that the government has never and will never compromise on fiscal discipline.

The Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet on June 23 to review its key interest rate.

This will be the MPC's sixth rate-decision meeting this year.

Economists expect the monetary authority to keep the policy rate (one-week repo auction rate) unchanged at
14 percent.

Demand has been strong for the newly introduced revenue-indexed domestic bonds, Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati has said.
