The Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) is readying its new government following the party’s recent election triumph – for the second time this year after its first election win on January 25.

There was enthusiasm at SYRIZA’s headquarters on Koumoundourou street from the first exit polls that put the party ahead of its main rival, the conservative New Democracy party. As the night progressed with votes tallied in the party’s favor, reserved joy gave way to smiles and cheers… and the flow of whiskey.

Former SYRIZA-ANEL government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili speaking to Reuters said the new SYRIZA-ANEL government formed after the September 20 elections would implement the harsh terms of the 3rd rescue plan Greece agreed to with its international creditors.

SYRIZA spokesperson Olga Gerovasili talked at Parapolitika radio station and stated “We will cooperate with anyone who believes that memorandum is catastrophic. The neoliberal approach imposed through it, the wrong recipe provided to the country was disastrous not only judging by the results but from the moment the memorandum was imposed as policy”.

Olga Gerovasili, spokesperson for Radical Left party SYRIZA categorically ruled out the possibility of a coalition government between her party and center-right conservative main opposition New Democracy after the September 20 elections.
