Navy commander calls for indictments over Gulf of Corinth pollution
A Hellenic Navy commander has formally appealed to the Supreme Court prosecutor's office to indict those responsible for the ongoing environmental disaster in the Gulf of Corinth.
Former PM Papandreou stands accused of making false pledges
Former Prime Minister George Papandreou is to go on trial on January 19 for claiming in the 2009 pre-election period that Greece had enough money to finance his campaign pledges.
The former PASOK leader is being sued by a retired navy lieutenant, Panayiotis Stamatis, who is demanding 260,000 euros in damages from Papandreou for failing to uphold his pre-election promises.
Law suits against Filis regarding statements negating Pontic Genocide
Two lawsuits were filed against Greek Education Minister Nikos Filis on Monday by the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s office. These were filed in connection with controversial comments he made negating the occurence of the 1914-23 genocide of Black Sea Pontic Greeks.
