Djokovic beats Sinner to win record seventh career ATP Finals title

TURIN - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis, has claimed a record seventh career ATP Finals title by defeating Italian Jannik Sinner 6-3, 6-3 in the final on Sunday evening.

Djokovic, who won after an hour and 44 minutes of play, is now 4-1 head-to-head against Sinner.

He previously lost to Sinner in the group stage of the tournament.

Aussie star Hewitt inducted into Tennis Hall of Fame

Lleyton Hewitt, a two-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on July 16, a ceremony delayed from 2021 by COVID-19.

Hewitt won the 2001 U.S. Open and 2002 Wimbledon titles among 30 career ATP triumphs and helped Australia capture the Davis Cup in 1999 and 2003.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer made history Sunday by playing the first-ever fifth-set tiebreak at 12-all in the Wimbledon final, writes Forbes.

In the longest Wimbledon men's final in history, Djokovic captured his fifth Wimbledon title, his second straight and his 16th Grand Slam crown when Federer shanked a forehand on match point after nearly five hours.

Record 8th Title For Federer

Roger Federer became the first man to win Wimbledon eight times and extended his record to 19 Grand Slam titles with victory over Croatia's Marin Cilic, according to BBC Sports. 

The Swiss third seed won 6-3 6-1 6-4 as seventh seed Cilic struggled with a blister on his left foot and broke down in tears during the second set.
