One of the prosecutors of the huge Dec. 17, 2013 corruption case, which embroiled many high-profile suspects including former cabinet ministers, has said the former ministers played two key roles in helping Iran break the U.S. embargo: Organizing fake documents, and making sure that Reza Zarrab remained the sole actor in the process.

The airline company of Babak Zanjani, an Iranian businessman who is accused of being involved with corruption with former Iranian government officials, has been confiscated by the government, an Iranian official has said.

With the vote in parliament late Jan. 20, the majority of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) lawmakers put the final nail in the coffin of yet another coup attempt targeting the ruling party, and hence the national will.
